'Floating market' in Bangkok is something that you just cannot miss at any cost. It's once in a lifetime experience. Floating market is a market where goods are sold on boats. Yes, you read it right... it's sold on boats! This is one of the most expensive markets but it's worth visiting once. I went there as early as 6 am just to get the feel of it but I ended up buying a lot of stuff, from flowers to spices to exotic fruits you name it and it's there, but beware it's just too expensive.

These two spas are one of the best and most acclaimed spas there. I told them to surprise me with their service, and they did! After an hour and a half long session, I was feeling young, happy and much more relaxed. Though Bangkok has some amazing hotels at affordable rates, I booked a room for myself in Marriot. I personally love the feel good factor and the service of the hotel. They make you feel special. My suite was huge and I was on the top floor. I was simply awestruck by the view it has to offer.

My personal favourite restaurant is Rocket Cafe for their amazingly different breakfast and coffee creations. I was there in Bangkok for 5 days, though I tried different items everyday but my personal favourite is Eggs Benedict and Hazelnut coffee. Also just watching hawkers on street prepare food is such a thrill, the flames rising in the air, the mad risk around each stall, this just states clearly how delicious Bangkok street food really is. I, for some reason, got hooked onto Tom Kha Kai which is a coconut gravy based soup and 'amazing' is an understatement for it! Don't miss out on genuine and authentic Thai cuisine like Thai Noodles or Gaeng Daeng.

Practically every cuisine in the world is represented here, be it French, Lebanese, Mexican, Indian, Vietnamese or fusion combining many of these together in a quirky mix. I tried some of the dishes but I just cannot pronounce them right but trust me they were finger licking good. So, all the food lovers, do come to Thailand just to tickle your taste buds.

Oh how can I forget my favourite sport: Shopping! Right from malls to some smart street shopping, Thailand has a lot to offer for someone who loves shopping. Siam Square is the place to shop in Bangkok; Siam Square have dozens of small designer boutiques which are so, so full of things you wish you could buy them all. MBK Center and Siam Center are the most popular shopping malls, as they sell fashion well below Western rates which of course is impeccable. Right from shoes to clothes, artefacts, jewellery, spices, plants, electronics to just about everything under the sun. I am not kidding when I say that I came back from Bangkok one bag heavier and of course exceeding my baggage limit in the flight! One advice which I will give everyone: shop but shop smart so that you won't have an issue to pay extra money to board the flight with excess baggage.
