Best Soundtrack
The winner of the Best Soundtrack of 2010 is Rockstar, an album which picked up slowly but had more than a dozen gems by the music maestro A.R.Rahman himself. With tracks like 'Sadda Haq', 'Jo Bhi Main', 'Katiya Karun', 'Kun Faya Kun' amongst others, Rockstar was the clear winner in this category with a whopping 46% of surfers voting for the album as the Best OST of the year.
Following Rockstar was the soundtrack of SRK starrer Ra.One which got 16% of the votes. The album composed by the talented duo of Vishal-Shekhar had the biggest chartbuster of the year in Chammak Challo.
Since 8 out of the top 10 soundtracks of 2011 belong to the T-Series label, it is but natural that T-Series is the 'Music Company of the Year'.
Talking about this, the head honcho of T-Series, Bhushan Kumar said, "It's a really proud moment that a vast majority of the Top 10 Soundtracks of 2011 are from the T-Series label. This just goes on to show that audience has really loved our music through the year. We will continue to set such high standards in 2012 as well." -

Best Lyricist
They say words make a song and if that's true then the Best Lyricist category surely is an important one. This year the winner of Best Lyricist was Shabbir Ahmed who wrote those beautiful lines in the romantic song 'Teri Meri' from Bodyguard. Shabbir bagged 27% of the votes to emerge on top of the list.
When Bollywood Hungama called up Shabbir to congratulate him on this honour, he said, "I am thrilled with this honour bestowed upon me by Bollywood Hungama surfers. I am grateful to my parents and also Himesh Bhai and Salman Bhai who gave me the chance to write lyrics for a song like 'Teri Meri'. Usually I have mainly written item numbers like 'Kaal Dhamaal, 'Tauba Tauba', 'Its Rocking', 'Dil Mein Baji Guitar' and even the recently released 'Bipasha' song from Jodi Breakers. It's the first time that I got a chance to write a soft melodious number like 'Teri Meri' and I am thankful to Himesh Bhai and Salman Bhai for trusting me. I would like to thank all the people who have liked my song and voted for me as Best Lyricist. Since these are awards voted for by the audience, I am happy that it's a fair result. Inshallah this year too I have some good songs in films like Dangerous Ishq, Department, Khiladi 786, Zila Ghaziabad, Maximum, Son Of Sardar, Tezz etc. and hope the audience continue to like and appreciate my work. This will only motivate me to work harder."
The runner-up in this category was Irshad Kamil who bagged 20% votes for his lines in 'Nadaan Parnidey' from Rockstar. -

Best Song
The year 2011 boasted of some really great songs, but the winner of the Best Song is 'Chammak Challo' from Ra.One. Sung by international pop singer Akon and Hamsika Iyer, this peppy track was a clear cut winner with 32 % of the votes beating A R Rahman's soulful composition 'Jo Bhi Main' from Rockstar, which got 20% votes.
Composer duo Vishal and Shekhar surely had a rocking year with songs like 'Chammak Challo' and 'Ooh La La' ruling the music charts. When we got in touch with Vishal Dadlani, he said, "I would like to thank everyone who voted. I am not a big believer in awards but when the public votes, it feels good because you know that it is genuine. Nothing else matters in this business as at the end of the day it is the people who have to like your work, as that is what we have worked for, so it feels great. I am happy that our song 'Ooh La La' also makes it to the top three. 'Jo Bhi Main' is also a very good song and it feels great to be in good company."
Kareena Kapoor who sizzled like never before in 'Chammal Challo' too was thrilled when she heard that 'Chammak Challo' was voted the Best Song of the year. The actress said, "I am happy and I truly believe that 'Chammak Challo' is the Song of the Year 2011. It's a great track and I am happy that my fans have voted for it. Akon, who has sung the song, doesn't know a word of Hindi and he has done such a fabulous job. In the future too we should encourage more of such international singers to sing in Hindi films."
